i be wondering, www.canadacomputers.com has the Sapphire
X1900 XT 256mb for $270 and the X1950 XT 256mb for $310 -
is it really worth the 40 dollars? and will i be capable of overclock the X1900 XT memory to X1950 XT levels (1800MHz effective)
thanx
which video card?
it MAY be possible near good cooling and for a moment more voltage but probably not as the x1950xt uses GDDR4 which is much more efficient than the GDDR3 used on the x1900xt. I enjoy an x1900xtx i've had up to 1700mhz impressive (850mhz) but it started getting flakey. You really wouldn't see much of a difference between to two honestly. 3-5 fps on average. save yourself the 40 bucks get hold of the x1900xt you won't be disappointed.
For that price why don't you buy an Nvidia or Radeon 512Mb card?
If by your last comment "1800 Mhz effective" you mingy that you need to overclock the X1900 by 1800 mhz, afterwards this will destroy your card!
I would recommend going the extra mile and forking out the extra 40 to future-proof your computer for as long as possible, explicitly, to have to not buy a tentative graphics card for even longer.
