Which Video Cards are the best and hold a virtuous price ticket?

I want to buy one to play games approaching age of empires 3 , hl2 (yeah I know they're pretty outdated now) at the highest possible display settings and no getting choppy and am wondering which video cards can do the errand best without hurting my wallet greatly

I recommend nVidia GPUs. 8800GTX, 7950 GT, 7600GT, 6600GT... All of these should be able to play those games on top settings with not too oodles problems. Of course, the higher the number, the better the execution, and the higher the price. You should be capable of find any of these nVidia GPU's made by BFG or eVga at any local computer store or even stores online. These are all GeForce graphics processors.
