Why have my desktop gone funny?

i be playing sims which i didn't change any settings for within order to play. it suddenly froze later went to desktop which be all big and purpley and bluey (like unfashionable computer screens) so i restarted the laptop and chose don't send when the error report entry came up. presently the ordinary desktop is backbone but with two black columns on any side and the font is slightly thicker. can i fix it and what cause it? thank you!

Check to see if your blind resolution has be changed, and then try to find "autosync" on the monitor. The computer may be out of sync next to the monitor. If you don't have that fact, change the eyeshade resolution around until it syncs.

if you have LCD, later no need, i.e. not the problem

I had this come to pass, it was the mobo. The southbridge chip go bad and have to be replaced.
