Why don't the up to date Macs come next to a word processor?

Sorry apple, but textedit is not a word processor. I can't believe what a ripoff. I won't be buying a trial computer from Mac.

Why don't the up to date Macs come next to a word processor?

They are Unfortunately getting into the 'Add-On' market!!

Which is a Shame!
The up to date Macs come with adjectives Microsoft software, including Word.

Mine did (macbook), purchased in July.
This OK and Free, I enjoy used in Windows to check for relatives. Scroll to Mac;

Windows computers don't really come with a Word processor any, unless you think WordPad is considered one. Most computers that come beside Microsoft Word are usually just trial version that will run out after 3 months. Microsoft Office which contains Word costs over $100.

You can pick up iWork for $80 which is similar to the basic Microsoft Office, or you can find a Mac revision of Microsoft Office.

Also, you can't buy a computer from Mac, but you can buy a Mac computer from Apple.
most computers these days don't come near word processors. Get open bureau it is free and much better than most word processors.
no computer does. u pay for them surrounded by the total package if you want them.
Actually they do, they're lately trial versions. Try this freeware if you can't afford M$ Office or iWorks http://www.neooffice.org/
