Why does my PC (running XP Pro) freeze when I try to turn it stale?

It noticeably is content with staying on.
because XP and microsoft are poop.

perchance you have a virus or installation wasn't set up properly?
2 Possible reason.

# 1. You have a virus that your virus protection ( If any ) Hasn't detected and/or over-involved with.

# 2. You hold too much running on your system during the shut down process. Eatting up Ram like Mad.
XP can install updates newly before shutting down which doesn't interupt you when you are using you laptop, and by doing when doing it as part of the shutdown process, it doesn't win on your whick, so it is not to bad an opinion but it should tell you its installing updates on the peak, it may be somthing to do with that, merely a guess - more information is needed - and you PC really needs to be properly tested previously I could say its one entity - virus could be an factor as well.
