why dose my computer harddrive sometimes not found when i starting up the computer?

Get inside your tower and check the jumper settings on your C drive variety sure its set to master..

Reboot go into bios settings and underscore C or master drive then detect adjectives drives when drive has be found press escape then F10 to liberate to CMOS then permit the computer boot.

If the same problem continues check the boot sequence and select C as the first boot device.

If adjectives that fails you may be looking at thorny disk failure.
Well, if you sometimes own a CD or DVD contained by the optical drive, and somehow you have your boot charge as OPTICAL, HD, ...

Then it tries to boot off the compact disc or DVD.
I had this problem every few days on my elderly PC, I think it be a feature of Windows 98.
