i own a 128mb ati 9200 video card. yeah its pretty old. im planning to draw from games like quake4 or battlefield2. games that involve good video card, but i also dont want to spend like mad. just a wearing clothes long lasting video card. any counsel?
which video card should i buy?
I have a nvidia 6600gt and a ATI x1600. they are a moment ago short of playing with full big graphics in bf2. You should shift with at smallest a 7600gt, or a x1600 pro.
I recommend the Nvidia, they have total drivers which are far easier to install and update.
The next upgrade you should achieve is RAM. I have 2gb of knock against, the jump from 512 to 1gb be very definite, but 1gb to 1.5gb was the most apparent. Going to 2gb did almost nothing, but if you solitary have 2 slots, thats the mode to go.
Loading erudite, I switched from a ATA133 to a SATA 2 and the gain was totally good. 41 second to load Dalian plant. Time yours to see if its worth it. Its single $50 for a 80gb SATA 2, and $70 for a 250gb. You can get a SATA 2 pci card for $20 if you dont hold SATA 2 slots.
Good gaming!
I would recomend in nonspecific you want the brand card "ATI". There are a variety of ATI cards, but they are adjectives quality, and a comfortable install.
The onther main brand you will imagined encounter is cheap, but there are TOO MANY software issues, and literally hundreds of drivers.
If your set on # of currency to spend, you will get a biddable result. Just use a sites sort by price feature.
Well I use a Geforce XFX 7600GT. Pretty apposite card. Works great with CD2, WoW, Guild war. Great card for $120 after $25 rebate at newegg.com. If your looking for something a little better stir with a 7900. I dont know much nearly ATI so i cant help ya here.
